Industrial factories were among the most fiercely contested objectives of WWII — producing tanks, aircraft, and ammunition that determined the outcome of the war. The Battle of Stalingrad was fought room-by-room through the Tractor Factory and Red October Steel Plant. When these buildings fell, their ruins became some of the most brutal close-quarters battlegrounds in history.
